redemption

redemption is a powerful thing. it frees a person from an emotional and spiritual prison that, sadly, they have locked themselves in. and it's a good feeling; to feel whole, clean, pure again, as if you were reborn......

but what if redemption was too far beyond your grasp? having had enough experience living amongst the human race, there must be some point at which redemption is no longer possible. a person who has built up so much turmoil and darkness in their past that no living man could possibly see fit to forgive them for it.

and it's sad, too. most people wouldn't forgive someone for something they did, especially if it was directed towards them. people find it hard to let go of things. they keep grudges in jars on dusty shelves and their blood boils whenever they look at them. they let themselves get cut and hurt by another person and see fit to show off their scars, but never to heal or let anyone else heal them. it seems like human nature to hold a grudge. and if someone is too forgiving, they are deemed as too trustworthy, and are talked about as people who are too nice, in hushed voices in empty rooms.

Jesus taught forgiveness. no matter how much someone has wronged you, to forgive them. better to be too nice and trustworthy than not, for aren't those childlike qualities?

some people don't have to keep that much darkness in the musty closet of their souls for others to hold a grudge against them. but is it possible for someone to have so much--history--to not be forgiven by any one person? ever?

i already know the answer. give me yours.

Ask and thou shalt recieve. Knock and the door shall be opened. You asked for an answer. Here it is: It is never possible to be beyond saving, beyond redemption in the eyes of God. Beyond the eyes of man yes, but they don't matter do they?
