obsession

i've actually been currently obsessed with jane austen's pride & prejudice. the actual 1995 movie, not this anorexic-kiera-knightley-modernized-dramatized version everyone loves. i enjoy the colin firth and jennifer ehle version because, first of all, it gives me a better reason to stay up late (6 videotapes--yes, video). it is also so much more real and probably more accurate to jane austen's most famous work. the chemistry between darcy and elizabeth is amazing--the tension on screen is so thick a knife couldn't cut it. i cannot get enough of it, and yet i still wish that jane austen would've written it further. but i suppose that is the modern viewer in me--i need more closure than just a happy ending, i need an ending to an ending.
