i thought both were very good in delivering their answers.
i loved how biden was passionate, and how palin was crisp and even and intelligent with her answers.
i also loved how the media was astounded. all they could say was "well, she didn't make a blunder" or "she kept avoiding the questions". watched a good part of it and i only remember one case where she didn't answer directly, but the mainstream media will choose to focus on that, of course. she put up a very good defense.
this is all about perception, right? most definitely, and my PoliSci prof was correct about this strategy. if biden became aggressive in his rebuttals towards palin, the perception would've been that he's chauvinistic. if he was too easy, too nice, the perception would have been that he was too condescending, and still chauvinistic. so what tactic was there left to do, but attack--mccain. every single accusation he threw at the other party was aimed at mccain--and i can understand that they are both there to bolster their principle running mates' campaigns, but remember that both of them, should either be elected, play crucial roles to their respective commander-in-chief. so, they have opinions, too, of course.
i have to say, for those of you who thought sarah palin was dumb, you took the bait. forget liberalism and conservatism--think strategy, think game theory here. this was perfect. i don't know exactly what the republicans' strategy was, but all i know is that sarah palin is definitely going to be seen in a much different, and hopefully more respected, light, after this debate. she knows what she's doing and what she's up against--don't ever underestimate this woman.
peace.
