like waiting at a bus stop for a bus that doesn't come, but you don't care, because you're all together again

yesterday was nearly an hour ago, and it was a rather good day. i won't let the disappointing half of my grades get me down. i saw friends i nearly always see when i come to town, and friends that i haven't seen in more than six months. i witnessed my checking account dwindle, my horrible eating habits get the best of me (except for the teriyaki...that was okay), an entirely full bowling alley, and my cell phone almost die on me twice.

but all of that was overshadowed by café food, walking the streets in the sun with katie, wandering through Pier 1 (always a favorite activity), poring over hundreds of colorful beads, good chicken teriyaki, old friends, a late evening run to Shari's, and hanging out by the bus stop by the mall, taking random pictures and garnering the bewildered looks of the evening construction workers. i felt the huge wave of nostalgia hit me in the throat for a moment before i was completely overwhelmed and submerged by former rituals of conversation (i.e. matthew generally being inappropriate but somehow insanely hilarious) and antics that would've been the result of moderate to heavy drinking, had we been normal people. i was cold, tia was insulted, matt was a little less vulgar, and justin bit my finger hard enough to draw blood.

it was a great day.
