As I write this, I'm sitting in my bathroom six minutes after my train should have left, because Amtrak can't be trusted east-to-west and my train is delayed almost three hours.
Lot of things happened this year heeeeyyyy look at that, she's writing an end-of-the-year post!
I moved. I slept in a sleeping bag on a couch for a month-and-a-half. I went to California and drowned in theatre things. I came back to the couch, and when the spring winds hit my 'Slipped' town, I headed home. I got a featured role in a web-series helmed by none other than the subject of a lot of heart-worn schoolgirl poetry on this blog (and his good friends). I got a part-time job in retail. I shot aforementioned web-series episode and spent time with the man himself, to which he probably gives very little, if any thought. I was asked to co-facilitate a theatre daycamp for kids over the summer, so I freaked out for a good month before I started planning that. I auditioned for a show, didn't get cast, then got cast a couple weeks later--best cast I've worked with in this town yet. I got an Americorps position and started working with kids full-time--whooWEE. Before that, I saw the best concert of my LIFE by the best band of my LIFE with one of my best friends for LIFE--it was a religious experience, coming from someone who is still struggling with how she's going to tell her mother she's agnostic. I listened to so much good music, made new friends (cliché, but always a plus), and have so many film reels going through my head it's no wonder I barely get any sleep these days.
And now it's twelve minutes after my train should have left, and my hair is out of hot rollers (FOUR IN THE MORNING) and is looking damn cute and I can only hope it holds all the way there; that's if I don't miss my second fucking train.
Hopefully this year ends well, and 2014 slips in all grand and golden. I've got a lot on my plate for this coming year, and right now, I have this song stuck in my head.
Can't wait.
