atlas shrugged

i recommend anyone who isn't afraid to go deep into the recesses of their own minds and who aren't afraid to question, read this book.

my dad gave this book to me as a graduation present. in the inside cover, he wrote this note:

"There are a few lessons in here for you--not all of them are necessarily to be embraced...but I will leave it to you to decide which are good and which may be left behind."

this book is almost a journey. the author, Ayn Rand, has a whole philosphy called "objectivism." but that's for another day.

i need to shake the dust off now and go read a few shallow-plotted books...i need a mental break.

plus, i need to eat lunch.
